Additional Products:
Heyen Antisulphate, Heyen Bonding Agent, Heyen Barrier Mortar, Heyen DPM/Vapour Barrier Resin.
Preparation:
All surfaces should have any loose layers removed and be free of bitumen, gypsum, oil, grease, paints etc and be solid and free of any dust. The surface should be pre-wetted thoroughly using HEYEN Bonding Agent at a ratio of 1 part Bonding Agent to 9 parts Water.
Mixing Ratio:
To increase the elasticity, crack bridging properties and bonding strength, it is recommended to add HEYEN Bonding Agent at a ratio of 1 part HEYEN Bonding agent to 2 parts water for above ground applications. For below ground applications use 2 parts HEYEN Bonding Agent to 1 Part Water add HEYEN Super Tanking Slurry and using a plastering paddle, slowly mix until a smooth lump free consistency is achieved.

Application:
HEYEN Super Tanking Slurry should be applied to the whole surface in two coats at a thickness of 2mm as a single coat. (Except for above ground applications). The first coat should be applied horizontally and overlapped onto the concrete floor by 150mm. Apply the second coat at right angles to the first as this will ensure complete coverage. The second coat should be applied before the first coat has dried and so that it does not drag. For below ground applications a concaved fillet must be applied to internal angles using HEYEN Barrier Mortar between the two coats of tanking.

Curing:
HEYEN Super Tanking Slurry should not be applied at temperatures below +5 degrees or on frozen surfaces. HEYEN Super Tanking Slurry once applied should be protected against rain and harsh sunlight. You should also make sure that it does not dry out too fast. In tanking applications ensure there is a through flow of air to prevent condensation build up. The tanking slurry can be plastered 24 hours after, using HEYEN Renovating Plaster.
Where the external ground level is above the internal floor level and to stop penetrating water or moisure and in the loo of a injected DPC, HEYEN Super Tanking Slurry can be applied direct onto the brickwork. In situations where hydrostatic water pressure (Basements and Cellars) and where there are sulphates and nitrates (Salts) it is recommended that HEYEN Anti-Sulphate be applied together with a tight render coat with Heyen Bonding agent in the mixing ratio prior to the application of HEYEN Tanking System. If Hydrostatic water pressure is experienced use HEYEN Waterstop as a dried powder or mix with water to form a plug.
